More than a few snaps from my getaway to Cornwall. I didn't take very exciting shots so some of these are stolen from my brother-in-law's camera. The food was ace, especially the fish we had at Rick Stein's cafe and the ice cream flavours in all the cute little parlours by the harbour. We camped the first two nights and stayed in a creepy B&B the second two nights. It was pretty funny. I loved the surfing, not at first mind; I hated it to begin with. I was just about ready to have a hopeless strop, mouth full of sea water, eyes full of sea water, arms aching, legs struggling in my X-men wetsuit, when it just clicked that I wasn't going to be able to surf properly, but instead I could just focus on trying to stand up. That would be my achievement of two days surf. When things started to look bleak and the prospect of rolling my seal-like body onto my board for another attempt seemed impossible, I somehow managed it. AND eventually I made it.....about two seconds standing up before a b*****d wave engulfed me. It was still a kick though and I can't wait to do it again.
